The annual member survey (CAHPS) is now open and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) are currently sending surveys to a random sample of our Medicare Advantage members.

Completing the survey is optional. However, your feedback is very important to CMS and Mass General Brigham Health Plan. Your voice matters. If you are selected to take this survey, we encourage you to take the time to complete it. It should only take approximately 15 minutes. A paid postage envelope is provided for you to return the paper survey. 

We greatly appreciate you taking the time to complete this survey. Your responses will help improve Medicare services and your Medicare Advantage plan.

Frequently asked questions (FAQs)

No, this is not a scam. CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) wants you to provide feedback on your Medicare Advantage plan. This feedback helps CMS rate the quality of your plan, improve Medicare services, and aid other people with Medicare in choosing a plan.

The letter provides information about a survey you are being sent to provide feedback on your Medicare Advantage plan. This feedback helps CMS rate the quality of your plan and improve Medicare services. It will also help other people with Medicare choose a health plan.

CMS stands for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. This is the federal government agency that oversees the Medicare program. They have your information because they are the agency that provides your Medicare Part A & Part B coverage.

The survey is completely anonymous. Not only will we not know the answers you give, CMS will not know either. The survey does not ask you to provide your name or any personal information.

Completing the survey is optional. You are not required to complete it; however, your feedback is very important to CMS and Mass General Brigham Health Plan. Your voice matters. We encourage you to take the time to complete; it should only take approximately 15 minutes. A paid postage envelope is provided for you to return the paper survey.

We encourage you to complete the survey as soon as possible; you may misplace it or accidentally throw it out if you wait until later. All surveys received by May 31, 2025, will be processed by the survey vendor on behalf of CMS.

CMS sends this survey to a sample of randomly selected members who are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan. Member responses to the survey help Medicare rate the Medicare Advantage plans offered throughout the United States.

The Press Ganey company is the CMS approved company that Mass General Brigham Health Plan has hired to collect and process survey results.

October 1 - March 31: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET, Monday-Sunday
April 1 - September 30: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET, Monday-Friday

Answer the questions to the best of your ability. You can skip a question if you don’t know the answer or have an opinion.

There are a few reasons you may not have received a survey last year. If you were not with Mass General Brigham Health Plan for at least half of the prior year before survey was conducted you would not be eligible for a survey. Or, you may not have been selected in the random CMS sample.

Your benefits are NOT impacted based on your choice to take/refuse the survey. This survey is the feedback mechanism to improve services delivered to you and is unrelated to benefits including cost or coverage.
